Can gratitude be an effective witness?

Yes. Without saying a word, you can let your light shine with an attitude of gratitude.

One of the great missionary heroes of the modern era was Amy Carmichael. She served the people of India for 55 years without furlough. Something remarkable happened to Amy on her way to India.

The ship she was on ran into a terrible storm. It was a constant roller coaster for days. She became sick, and lost strength. She could not get out of bed, or hold down any food. Water from the upper deck spilled into her room and sloshed about.

Instead of giving into despair and complaining, Amy took her stand. She took a piece of plywood and wrote these words from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”

The ship’s captain, an outspoken unbeliever, came by Amy’s room and saw the sign. Her thankful heart in the middle of the storm bewildered him. After the storm subsided he talked with Amy, eager to find the source of her strength. She told him about Jesus, and the hardened captain surrendered his life to Christ.

Are you in a storm today? People watch the children of God during the storms of life. Our darkest storms are really our greatest opportunities to shine.

What’s the latest on our future home?

The surveying work is finally completed and in the hands of our engineer. This important piece held us up for a couple months. The site plan work can now move forward, and will hopefully be completed in May.

Is the property clean up day still on?

Yes. It’s not too late to join us tomorrow from 9 AM to 12 PM. Bring gloves, long pants, and closed toe shoes. We’ll bring the donuts!

What’s the latest on the Easter egg hunt?

It’s on – Saturday, March 26th from 11 AM to 1 PM – thousands of eggs, giant moon bounces, and Chick-fil-A. Please help us spread the word through social media by sharing this invite with your friends. Remember, any time we can get people on the land it is a win. That’s our future!

How can I help to make the egg hunt a success?

Two ways… Saturday, March 19th is big tent set up day from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. Please bring gloves and a sledge hammer. Raising the tent is always a great time of fellowship.

You can also volunteer to serve on the Egg Hunt Team right here. Get out. Enjoy the weather. Meet new people. Have fun. Eat some chicken.

Are we having a water baptism celebration?

Yes – Sunday, April 4th. If you’ve made a new commitment to follow Jesus, your next step is water baptism. It is a time of celebration and to let everyone know what the Lord has done in your life. You can sign up here.

Why do we call it a “miracle offering”?

When we sow generously God promises to multiply. At some point in his time he will bless the sower and grow the seed for his glory. Remember, God is able to do exceedingly beyond anything we can ask or think.

Our goal for the miracle offering this Sunday is $20,000 to help cover expenses for the Easter outreach, and to pay down the loan on the land. Please pray about what you might give.

So thankful to be your pastor,

Arlie
