county hearing Last night the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to change the use of our land from agricultural to church use! We expected a majority vote, but not a unanimous one. I love those kinds of surprises.

The big win was the special exception allowing us to connect to water and sewer. In the Rural Crescent, where our land is located, hook ups to water and sewer are only offered to residents, and to public facilities like schools, libraries, fire stations, etc. The county is concerned that offering sewer and water to other groups, like churches, and businesses, would open up the Rural Crescent to over development and congestion. The supervisors overruled this restriction, which was a major hurdle!

Now we can go forward. All we need is our site plan and architectural drawings to break ground on our first church home!

I want to say a special thank you to all those who attended the hearing. You took time out of your busy lives to give your support. We had a strong turnout, and when you stood it sent a strong message to our elected officials. Thanks for believing. Thanks for not quitting in the middle of the battle. It was great to celebrate this victory with you!

Let’s remember that God is writing our story and it is a great one. Full speed ahead!
