I’m here in the lobby of the Lungi Airport hotel. We’ve come to use their wifi and in a few minutes will be returning to our guest house. Our rooms are cooled by ceiling fans that only work in the night. For that we still are thankful because this is the hottest time of the year for West Africa. Sleeping under mosquito nets and covered in bug spray makes the nights a bit sticky.
Hey… but the Global Leadership Institute is going well. This our third year. After this session the institute will be handed over to the Pastor Gregory Bangura and Rabonni Missions International. Each year now a new three year program will begin to raise up new church planters in a country that desperately needs churches. Every village has a mosque, but most have no churches. Special honor goes to Dr. John Thompson, my great friend, for having the vision to launch this training program.
This group of 25 has received 25 netbooks loaded with Bible software. Most have never owned their own computer. A member of our team, Ron McVicar is a computer programmer and will teach them each day next week for an hour on computer basics. These computers will be a great aid to their person Bible study and will surely strengthen their students. I’m so proud of the VC family for buying these computers for these servants of God on the front line.
Tomorrow I speak on Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witness for 2 hours and will preach Sunday in a local church. I miss my family and especially my lovely wife. Continue to keep us in your prayers!
